May 16-17: Refresh Your Closet

Perk up your wardrobe at the Spring Refresh Your Closet Sale this Friday and Saturday at EmBe, 300 W. 11th St. You’ll find brand-name women’s clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry and other items while supporting EmBe women’s programs. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Items are individually priced on Friday, with a bag sale on Saturday.

May 16: Make a pyramid

Summon the spirit of ancient Egyptian craftsmanship when you saddle-stitch a sculptural leather pyramid. This Pegboard Lab workshop will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Good NAtured, 921 E. Eighth St. All materials are provided. Tickets are available here.

May 16: Playing the blues

Come to Full Circle Book Co-op, 123 W. 10th St., at 8:30 p.m. Friday for an evening of the blues. Steve Lovett plays original and classic blues on guitar, vocals and harmonica. Also performing is Griffin Aasen, who offers “good looks, youth and sultry vocals over guitar accompaniment.”

May 17: Bike expo

The Sioux Falls Bike Expo, a free community event, will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Active Generations East, 5500 E. Active Generations Place. Hosted by Falls Area Bicyclists, it is designed for cyclists of all levels and ages and will teach about group rides, bike safety and cycling resources in the area. It will include local bike shops, community partners and vendors. If you join Falls Area Bicyclists during the expo, you’ll receive a pair of free socks.

May 17: Saturday market

The Second Saturday Market, a community-based event in downtown Sioux Falls, is introducing a platform for creators to showcase their talents. It will feature artists, resellers, clothing brands and food trucks. It will be open from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday on the east side of the 8th & Railroad Center, 421 E. Eighth St. Admission is free.

May 20: Cornhole league

Let the cornhole season begin! The Social, 301 S. Thompson Ave., is hosting sign-up for the spring/summer bag league. There are beginner and competitive divisions. Both divisions are double-elimination. Games begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday with sign-up at 6 p.m. For information, contact Mark Miles at 605-366-1954.
