March 24-26: Spring Open House

The Simply Perfect store is hosting three days of open house events to celebrate its new inventory arrivals for spring. The store will have multiple free events, including classes on fashion trends for spring, a front door and planter decorating workshop and a lesson on how to make the perfect Easter tablescape. Simply Perfect is located on the boardwalk at the 8th & Railroad Center.For a full list of events and times, click here.

March 24: Midtown Coffee Radio Hour Live

The Midtown Coffee Radio Hour is doing a live recording of “Midtown in Space!” on Thursday. You’ll be able to listen to an hour of space-themed music and skits. The House Blend band will be performing, and Local Lou of the “Local Lou” podcast will be guest starring. The show will take place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in Augustana’s Back Alley in Morrison Commons. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased here.

March 26: Ag Day

Celebrate Ag Day at the Washington Pavilion and help your kids learn a little bit more about one of South Dakota’s biggest industries. Ag Day will take place Saturday and include activities like an agricultural trivia game, an I Spy Farm display and other animal- and farm-themed games. The event is free to the public, and admission to the Kirby Science Discovery Center and Visual Arts Center also will be free. Ag Day will begin at 9 a.m. and last until 1 p.m.

March 26: Animal Enrichment Day

Watch animals have some fun Saturday at the Great Plains Zoo. Animal Enrichment Day is a day dedicated to giving the zoo animals a good time. You’ll be able to see snow monkeys playing with papier-mache balloons, a rhino eating a watermelon or a bear foraging for food. The activities will go on throughout the afternoon, and you’ll be able to watch all the animals, including Amur tigers and black bears, with regular admission to the zoo, 805 S. Kiwanis Ave.

March 26: Seed Swap & Plant Party

Common Roots Seed Library and Sweetgrass Soapery are hosting a Seed Swap & Plant Party on Saturday. You’re invited to bring any seeds, clippings or extra plants. Herbs, flowers and any other plants are welcome. Then, you’ll be able to pick to your liking items to swap and exchange for free. Depending on the weather, the event will be set up outside. The swap will begin at noon and end at 4 p.m. at 319 N. Main Ave.

March 26-27: Greater Sioux Falls Model Train Show

The Dakota Southeastern Division of the National Model Railroad Association is hosting the seventh annual Greater Sioux Falls Model Train Show on Saturday and Sunday at the Multi-Cultural Center. At the show, there will be presentations, train layouts and model train vendors. Consignment is also available at the event. Admission is $5 for adults and free for those 12 and younger. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The Multi-Cultural Center is at 515 N Main Ave.
