March 17: Celebration of Traditional Irish Music
There are a lot of St. Patrick’s Day festivities happening right about now, but this one might give you a taste of some Irish culture. The Old Courthouse Museum will be hosting a Celebration of Traditional Irish music Thursday night. You’ll get the chance to hear music from Maggie in the Meantime and Dakota District Pipes & Drums, as well as be able to watch Irish dancing from Celtic Steps. The event is free to the public and will begin at 5 p.m. Food from the Kota Cafe and drinks from Dakota Beverage will be available for purchase.

March 17: Vegetable Gardening 101
Get ready to grow your own vegetables just in time for spring. The Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum is hosting a Vegetable Gardening 101 weekly series starting Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with Master Gardener Jerry Mills, and the first week you’ll focus on the dirt. You’ll learn where to find the best spot in your backyard, how to till successfully and how to grow healthier plants. March 19: Bach Birthday Bash
Love classical music? Even if you’re not a superfan, this event is sure to be enjoyable. Augustana University and the American Guild of Organists are holding a free event to celebrate Johann Sebastian Bach’s birthday by performing his work. Performances will be held by the Augustana University Chorale, the White Spruce Chamber Players and organists from Dordt University, the University of South Dakota and Augustana. The event will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Augustana chapel.

March 19: Sioux Falls St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The Sioux Falls St. Patrick’s Day Parade is back, and it’s sure to be just as lively as in previous years. Like in the past, the parade will go down Phillips Avenue Featured in the parade will be the second annual “Run of the Lucky 7s,” where you could have the chance to lead the parade after running about a mile. During the parade, you’ll also be introduced to the leaders of the parade, Miss Shamrock and the grand marshal. Expect many other festivities throughout the day. The parade will begin downtown at 2 p.m. Saturday.

March 19: St. Patty’s Day Bash at the Shrine
The El Riad Shrine’s Fife & Drum Corps is hosting its free 18th annual St. Patty’s Day Bash all day Saturday, with doors opening at 11 a.m. for food and drink. There’s a beer pong tournament that starts at 12:30 p.m. Cory Gray will perform from 5 to 7 p.m., and rRegional band Eclipse will play rock and country until the party’s over.

Thursday, March 17
St. Patrick’s Day at PAve, 11 a.m. to close. PAve celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with half-priced drinks all day, live music by Tony Williams from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and live DJ from 10 p.m. to close.
St. Patrick’s Celebration of Traditional Irish Music, 5 to 7:30 p.m. The annual St. Patrick’s Celebration of Traditional Irish Music returns to the Old Courthouse Museum. Admission is free, food from Kota Cafe and drinks by Dakota Beverage will be available to purchase.
St. Patrick’s Day at Full Circle Book Co-op, 8 p.m. Why wait for parade day to celebrate? Gather for a night of live music.
Saturday, March 19
42nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Starting at 2 p.m. and back after two years! Click here for map.
St. Patrick’s Day Bash at Holiday Inn City Centre, 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. with food and drink specials, live music from Goodroad and Whiskey Rich, and Irish dancing from Celtic Steps.
The Fifth Annual Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Crawl, 4 to 11:59 p.m.
Remedy St. Patty’s Party, 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. The Celtic Steps perform at 10 a.m. Live music with Adam Layman begins at 7 p.m. Food specials and Irish beers all day!
St. Patrick’s Day Party at Wileys, 10 a.m. to close. Food and drink specials, green beer, live bagpipers and more.
St. Patrick’s Day Party at Monks, 4 p.m. After the parade, head across the river to continue the celebration with live music and great beer at Monks Ale House.
Lucky 7’s Race, 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Sign up ahead of time.
St. Patrick’s Party at DaDa Gastropub, 4 p.m. 4 Sure is a high-energy four-piece Midwest band that covers Top 40 hits from the ’90s to today.

March 21: Music of Nature
Help your child understand the music of nature with Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation. You’ll spend the day exploring Great Bear Recreation Park and listening for the natural symphony that occurs in the outdoors, as well as create some of your own music along with it, all to celebrate the International Day of Forests. The event is for those age 4 and 5, and parent participation is required. The hourlong events starts at 6 p.m. Monday. Registration costs $5, and can be completed here.
