June 2: Eastbank Block Party

Enjoy live music on a warm summer night at the June Eastbank Block Party at 8th & Railroad Center from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday. It will include cold drinks, food truck fare and entertainment for kids with an array of yard games. Interactive vendors also will be present. Music includes Brady Wrede, Mat D & Roadside Revival and the headliner, The Clover Fold.

June 2: First Friday

First Friday activities in downtown Sioux Falls include an art show and free beverages. Local artists will be showing and selling their work at Van Art Studios., 120 N. Phillips Ave. At Veza, 330 S. Phillips Ave., you can try a free specialty cocktail from 2 to 5 p.m. with an extra 20 percent off all sale items.

June 2: Concert series begins

The Levitt at the Falls Concert Series 2023 will begin at 7 p.m. Friday with Vanessa Collier, who weaves funk, soul, rock and blues into her performances. The Shamrockers will be the opening act, and food trucks will include Backyard BBQ, Breaking Burrito and The Lunch Box. JJ’s Wine & Spirits is the beverage vendor. June 3: Book signing

Melissa Johnson will sign her book “Lifelong Learner: Reflections, Notes, Discoveries” from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble. Johnson carries readers from The Discovery on a journey to The Learning, The Growing and finally to The Knowing.

June 4: Veg Fest

The Good Earth Farm will host South Dakota Veg Fest 2023 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The free event includes vendors, food and presenters with a focus on vegan/vegetarian lifestyles and sustainability. Good Earth is at 28318 466th St., south of Lennox.

June 4: Rhubarb Day

If you love rhubarb, then Vermillion is the place for you Sunday. That’s when the W.H. Over Museum’s annual Rhubarb Day Celebration will take place at 2 p.m. Bring your favorite rhubarb creation for tasting; prizes will be awarded.

June 6: Noon concerts

Downtown Sioux Falls will launch its first lunchtime concert series at the Cherapa Amphitheater on Tuesday. The AMPT concert series will continue on Tuesdays through Aug. 29 with the exception of July 4. The concerts will feature local artists and food trucks between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Food trucks will be located in the Raven Industries parking lot. The concert series kicks off with Kevin Ryan and Breaking Burrito food truck. The complete schedule can be found here.
