The Week Ahead is our hand-picked event guide to the next seven days in Sioux Falls and slightly beyond. For guaranteed placement or to promote your event ahead of time, email [email protected] about a featured event listing.

July 21-22: Crazy Days

We’re all about catching the crazies here. That’s why we’re looking forward to Crazy Days on Friday and Saturday in downtown Sioux Falls. Downtown shops will offer the lowest markdowns of the season. And some stores will extend Crazy Days over to Sunday.

July 22: Car show

Nyberg’s Ace Hardware at 200 E. 12th St. is celebrating its sixth Annual Hot Classics Night, the largest car show in downtown Sioux Falls. More than 500 cars will be on display Saturday, showcasing classic cars and trucks on First Avenue. Local bands Surfin’ Safari and Last Call will perform, along with various food truck vendors on-site and beverage sales by El Riad Shrine Classie Autos benefiting local kids. Parking starting at 2 p.m. No registration is needed. There is free public parking for non-show cars at the city ramp at 11th Street and First Avenue. Bring your own lawn chairs.

July 22: Summer Slamorama

The Flying Santo Taco Bar and Century 21 Advantage will present Flagship Pro Wrestling Summer Slamorama, aka an evening of lucha and fun. It will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at the top level of the 101 N. Phillips Ave. parking ramp and promises “high-flying moves, intense rivalries and nail-biting action that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the event.” Food vendors include Flying Santo Taco Bar, and there will be a bouncy castle for kids along with wrestling memorabilia and other merchandise for sale.

July 23: Barket pop-up market

What do you call a pop-up market for dogs? We think “Barket” definitely works. Find this one from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Severance Brewing Co. along the boardwalk at The Cascade, 701 N. Phillips Ave. All vendors will have a pet focus — with some options for human shoppers too. Click here for more on the vendors.

July 26: The Arc and ADA

The Arc of Dreams in downtown Sioux Falls is lighting up red and blue in celebration of the Americans With Disabilities Act’s 33rd anniversary. There’s no formal ceremony, but you can show your support by taking a selfie at the sculpture over the river and hashtag it with #ADA33SF. The ADA completely changed the way individuals with disabilities live their lives and access all parts of society, and that’s a reason to celebrate.

Coming up: Chislic festival

July 29 will celebrate all things chislic — South Dakota’s official state nosh — at the South Dakota Chislic Festival at the Freeman Prairie Arboretum. Food vendors will serve other treats, and there will be a beer tent, nonfood vendors, bingo, beanbag tournaments and a Kid Zone. Musical artists taking the stage include Dawson Brooks Sayler Band, 10 a.m.; The Man In Black: A Johnny Cash Tribute Band, 12:30 p.m.; the Wild Card Band, 3 p.m.; and from 5:30 to close,  the Rock Hardys – a family band featuring Mark “Rock,” Eric, Adam and Steph Hardy. Admission is free.
