Feb. 18-20: Jurassic Quest

Jurassic Quest is coming to the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds from Friday through Sunday, and it’s sure to be a fun event for both kids and adults. Jurassic Quest is described as the “world’s largest, most popular dinosaur event” and features life-sized dinosaur replicas, rides and even fossil digs. You’ll also get the chance to complete dinosaur-related crafts and even complete “The Quest,” which is a series of interactive clues that will lead to a prize in the end. Feb. 19: Sioux Empire on Tap

Are you a beer lover? Check out the Sioux Empire on Tap event Saturday at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, where there will be plenty of beer to go around. This craft beer festival will feature almost 50 breweries and over 100 beer styles. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door and offer three hours of sampling along with a souvenir glass. Sessions run from 1 to 4 p.m. or 5 to 8 p.m. Food and concessions also will be sold at the event, and live music will be featured. Designated driver tickets are available for $10. Feb. 19: Craft Beer & Bingo

Miner Brewing Co. and Prairie Berry Winery Taproom are hosting a craft beer and bingo event Saturday. This free event will give you a chance to meet people and have some fun. You’re encouraged to bring in food to the taproom on the taproom on the south side of the Western Mall, and freewill donations for Habitat for Humanity will be collected during bingo. The games will begin at 12:30 p.m. and end at 2 p.m.

Feb. 19: Wiener Dog Races

The annual Wiener Dog Races at the Denny Sanford Premier Center will take place Saturday during the hockey game between the Sioux Falls Fighting Wiener Dogs — aka Sioux Falls Stampede — and Omaha Lancers. The Wiener Dog Races, which benefit Dakota Dachshund Rescue, have been a staple on the Sioux Falls Stampede schedule for 15 years. As a part of the special 15th anniversary celebration, players will be auctioning off jerseys, and there also will be several dachshunds available for adoption at the event. Feb. 19: Live Art Party

Want to watch a few artists do what they do best, live in action? The Full Circle Book Co-Op is hosting a Live Art Party at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and you’ll get the chance to choose between two competing artists. Two artists will have 30 minutes to create a piece on a blank canvas. , will also feature live music. At the end of the night, you’ll choose which artist moves on to the next round. The event includes a DJ playing music and will be followed by a Q&A with the artists.

Feb. 22: “Be the Good” Canvas Creation

Need a little bit more positivity in your life? Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation is hosting a crafting session that is sure to lift your spirits. “Be the Good” Canvas Creations will give those age 10-17 a chance to make art that will brighten up any space. All materials, including canvas, stickers and more, will be provided. The event will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Oyate Community Center, 2421 W. 15th St., adjacent to Garfield Elementary. Registration is required, costs $5, and can be completed here.
