Feb. 12: Valentine’s Party in Harrisburg

There’s no school, so head to Lava’s Coffee and Cafe from 9 a.m. to noon for treat decorating, face painting, a candy dig, sensory play and crafts. It’s located at 305 W. Willow St. in Harrisburg. Bonus: Do a little Valentine’s shopping while the kids are entertained.

Feb. 12 and 13: Roses & Tacos

Learn how to paint with roses, sip on some wine, and take home tasty tacos. Kristine’s Artwork and Salas Salsas are partnering for a fun event at the Cambria Gallery on West 57th Street. Sign up for the class from 6 to 9:30 either night.

Feb. 13: Winter Carnival Vendor Fair

It’s really not fair the Winter Carnival got hit with so much, well, winter. But you can still celebrate indoors with the Winter Carnival Vendor Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Liberty Hall. That’s the former VFW at 3601 S. Minnesota Ave.

Feb. 13: Smooches and Pooches

Show your fur baby some love this Valentine’s weekend. From 1 to 3 p.m., Paws Pet Resort will hand out treat bags and invite pet parents to fill out their dog’s dating profile.

Take a photo in front of the kissing booth, and compete for the most Facebook likes to win a prize package. Plus enjoy group play time and dog goodies for a $10 admission.

Feb. 13: Lonely Hearts Club Poetry Night

If your heart is feeling lonely ahead of Valentine’s Day — or you just appreciate some good literary work — check out this open mic event at DaDa Gastropub downtown. It begins at 9 p.m. and is free.

Feb. 13 and 14: Chocolate Festival

Russell St. will host a Chocolate Festival from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 13 and 14. Tour the center, see it set up for an event, and browse “the best of Sioux Falls chocolate and Valentine’s gifts for that special someone in your life.”

Feb. 14: Flick & Float

Escape the cold, and take a dip with a flick at 2 p.m. at the Midco Aquatic Center. “The Princess & The Frog” will be shown and tubes will be provided. Participants will need to have an active swim pass or pay daily admission rates.
