Struggling to ‘spring forward?’ There’s a mattress for that

If you’ve found it especially hard to feel rested this week, it might be more than daylight saving time.

It might be time for a new mattress.

“On average, people start to feel it around 10 years – that’s what most mattresses are designed for – but that can vary dramatically depending on use, body type and your tolerance for discomfort,” said Clint Richards, mattress department manager at Montgomery’s.

“If you invested in a top-quality mattress, you might get longer, but if you did a lower price point, you definitely might need a new one sooner than 10 years.”

Montgomery’s has both the technology and the mattress selection to help you invest in a better night’s sleep.

You’ll start with a “Support Report,” using pressure-mapping technology to determine your ideal comfort level.

“From start to finish, it takes two or three minutes,” Richards said. “It’s very simple, but it builds an image of what your body looks like on a mattress and gives insight into what firmness, types of coils and surface might be best.”

From there, the Montgomery’s sleep experts will guide you to a mattress that conforms to your body and lifestyle, and can eliminate many common sleep problems:

  • Tossing and turning.
  • Lack of support.
  • Sleeping too hot or too cold.
  • Partner disturbance.
  • Mattress roll-off and sagging.

“I would say allow 30 to 45 minutes when you come in to consider a new mattress,” Richards said.

“You won’t feel rushed, and you’ll get the full experience.”

You also won’t be overwhelmed. Montgomery’s intentionally curates a selection of options “we feel are best, offering both good quality and value for customers,” Richards said.

“There are advantages to working with major brands such as Serta, Beautyrest and Aireloom. I can get you a better-quality product that’s been built, engineered and tested for quality before it’s ever put on the market.”

Here are a few other tips to keep in mind as you search for your next mattress.

There are options at all price points

Want to really score a deal? Stop in the Conlin’s going-out-business sale adjacent to Montgomery’s before the end of the March and you’ll find big savings.

“We can’t offer the same scientific approach there, but you’ll definitely find a solid assortment of floor models and great clearance deals,” Richards said.

“Plus, throughout the Montgomery’s showroom, you’ll find entry-level mattresses that are good for kids’ or guest rooms that maybe aren’t as high tech but are still high quality.”

There’s a Perfect Sleep Promise

Take the pressure off your mattress-buying experience with Montgomery’s 120- or 365-Night Perfect Sleep Promise. The Perfect Sleep Promise is available on new mattresses priced at $799 or more.

It starts at the cost of the mattress protector for the 120-night sleep promise.

In the event you are not completely satisfied with your mattress after your 30-night sleep trial, you have the option to do a Comfort Exchange for a new mattress of equal or lesser value.

Also, receive free local delivery of your mattress with your purchase.

Consider adding an adjustable base

Think an adjustable bed is the stuff of retro informercials for seniors? Today’s technology has changed all that.

“There are a lot of advantages,” Richards said.

“There’s the benefit of keeping your head up while you sleep if you have sinus issues, bringing your feet up to take pressure off your back or relieve fluid on your ankles. And while you’re awake, you can use your bed more like a recliner to sit up and read or use a massage feature, so it can really change how your evening goes.”

Stop in the store to try one for yourself.

Don’t forget the finishing touches

Call it a one-stop shop at Montgomery’s because while you might be there for a mattress, the sleep experts also can guide you through a selection of pillows, sheets and protectors.

“We have complete bed packages that are a great value and quality products,” Richards said.
