Sioux Falls-based HGTV show fast-tracked to second season
“Down Home Fab,” the HGTV series starring Sioux Falls-area residents Chelsea and Cole DeBoer is headed to a second season.
HGTV fast-tracked the midseason renewal, according to a statement, noting the show is the No. 1 non-news/cable program among women 25-54 on Mondays at 8 p.m. CST.
More than 6 million viewers have watched the show after its first three episodes.
The series follows the couple, who appeared on “Teen Mom 2,” as they renovate and redesign homes in the Sioux Falls area.
It’s HGTV’s highest rated new show since May 2022.
Three episodes of the first season are still scheduled to air. The new eight-episode second season is scheduled to air in early 2024.
The DeBoers’ social media presence also likely is driving interest in the show. They have 15.6 million followers across their social accounts. Content in support of “Down Home Fab” has delivered nearly 15 million video views across HGTV Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok accounts. Additionally, the series is the most popular show page on HGTV.com.
“Chelsea and Cole’s undeniable on-screen chemistry and enthusiasm for renovation brings in millions of fans every week to HGTV’s platforms,” head of content Loren Ruch said in a statement. “We can’t wait to get the ball rolling on a new season, and in the meantime we’ve got three upcoming episodes and lots more digital content with this dynamic couple in store.”
