October 18, 2021

Construction season is here, so we’re giving you a weekly look at what projects are done, where you’ll find traffic impacts and what’s scheduled next.

What’s underway

Work in the intersections of 26th and Sertoma and at 26th and Marion is taking slightly longer than expected, but work should be complete by the middle of this week.

Work on Minnesota Avenue between 57th Street and St. Andrews Drive is still on track to be complete by mid-November.

Utility work is complete, and the contractor is working on grading the last phase.

Work on 49th Street between Louise Avenue and Carnegie Circle is on track to be complete by late October or early November. Concrete paving work should be starting early next week.

What’s next

The outside eastbound lane of 41st Street at Hawthorne Avenue will be closed starting today. Work is expected to take about one week.

The eastbound lanes of 26th Street will be closed between Summit and Minnesota avenues. Traffic will be detoured south at Summit to 33rd Street. Work is expected to take about one week.

And in a reminder what will be on the road sooner rather than later — take a look at the newly painted snowplows that volunteer groups painted over the weekend.
