Road Report: Oct. 3, 2022
Construction season is here, so we’re back with our weekly look at what projects are done, where you’ll find traffic impacts and what’s scheduled next.
What’s done
Cliff Avenue: All lanes on Cliff Avenue between 49th and 56th streets are open now!

Periodic daytime lane closures may occur as the contractor finishes minor items.
What’s underway
Lots of paving occurred last week, with more to come this week:
Sycamore Avenue: The southeast quadrant of 41st Street and Sycamore Avenue has been paved. The asphalt overlay on Sycamore between 26th and 41st streets also took place early last week.

All lanes are now open on Sycamore between 26th and 41st.

Traffic at the intersection of 41st and Sycamore still is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction. Work on this project is expected to be complete in mid-November.

Marion Road: The first concrete pour took place Wednesday on Marion Road north of Amazon.

Marion Road remains closed between Foundation Court and the Crooks/Renner Road. Work on this project is expected to be complete in mid-November.

Arrowhead Parkway: Another concrete pour took place Thursday on Arrowhead Parkway between Six Mile Road and the Willow Run Golf Course.

An asphalt transition section will be paved next week ahead of Arrowhead Parkway reopening to traffic in mid-October. This project won’t be completed until the summer of 2023.

North Minnesota Avenue: Concrete paving is scheduled to take place Wednesday on Minnesota Avenue between Second and Russell streets. As part of this work, traffic on will be reduced to one lane at times to allow the contractor to place the mainline concrete pavement along the east side of the street. A traffic flagger will be on-site directing traffic. One lane of traffic in each direction will be open by the end of the day Wednesday. All lanes of traffic on Minnesota Avenue will reopen later this fall. The overall project won’t be complete until the spring of 2023.

What’s next
60th Street North: Beginning today, 60th Street North will be closed between Minnesota and Westport avenues to allow crews to perform concrete pavement repairs. Westbound traffic will be detoured to Russell Street at Minnesota. Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Russell at Westport. This work is expected to be complete in about two weeks.
57th & Southeastern: Beginning today, the inside westbound lane and the westbound left turn lane on 57th Street will be closed at the intersection of Southeastern Avenue to allow crews to perform water main and concrete pavement repairs. One lane of westbound traffic will be maintained at all times during construction. Eastbound traffic will not be impacted. This work is expected to be complete in about one week.
South Minnesota Avenue: Beginning Tuesday, the outside southbound lane of Minnesota Avenue will be closed between 33rd and 41st streets to allow crews to complete sidewalk improvements. This work is expected to be complete by late October.
