November 21, 2022

Construction season is winding down, but we’re still offering our weekly look at what projects are done, where you’ll find traffic impacts and what’s scheduled next.

What’s underway

41st & Sycamore: All lanes at 41st Street and Sycamore Avenue will reopen to traffic early this week.

The city is waiting for the slightly warmer weather this week to apply the temporary pavement striping to get through the winter.  Traffic signal installation will take place later this fall/winter when all materials arrive on-site. The permanent pavement striping will be installed next spring.

60th Street North: 60th Street North at Interstate 229 will remain closed through the winter to allow the bridge over the interstate to be replaced.

60th Street North will reopen to traffic in the summer of 2023.

Benson Road: Benson Road east of I-229 is expected to reopen this week.

Crews have been busy installing water main and sanitary sewer for the new industrial development in this area.

This segment of Benson Road will close again next spring for paving.

What’s next

This likely will be our last weekly Road Report for this construction season. We’ll be back soon with a recap of all the major work done this year and a look ahead to 2023!
