Road Report: Aug. 29, 2022

Construction season is here, so we’re back with our weekly look at what projects are done, where you’ll find traffic impacts and what’s scheduled next.

What’s underway

Cliff Avenue: Cliff Avenue between 49th and 56th streets has reopened to traffic!

One lane of traffic in each direction will be in place from now until the project is fully complete later this fall.

41st Street: The outside eastbound lane on 41st Street is closed just west of Kiwanis Avenue. This closure will occur daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work will be complete early this week.

41st Street: The north side of the intersection at 41st Street and Terry Avenue is expected to reopen today.

What’s next

41st Street: Beginning today, the north side of the intersections at 41st Street with Madelyn and Meadow avenues will be closed to allow crews to prepare and place concrete. Both intersections are scheduled to reopen at the end of next week.

Kiwanis Avenue: Beginning today, the outside southbound lane of Kiwanis Avenue will be closed between 22nd and Oak streets to allow crews to perform concrete repairs. This work is expected to be complete in about one week.

Phillips and 10th: Beginning today, the southbound lane on Phillips Avenue will be closed between Ninth and 10th streets to allow Xcel Energy to perform work.  The far right lane on 10th between Phillips and Main avenues also will be closed as part of this work. Sidewalk access to businesses will be maintained. This work is expected to be complete in about one month.

Bike trail: Beginning Tuesday, the bike trail will be closed between Madison and Maple streets near Elmwood Golf Course to allow crews to reconstruct this segment of the bike trail. Trail users should follow the signed detour along Madison Street, Louise Avenue, Westport Avenue and Maple Street.  Work is expected to be complete in late September.
