Road Report: April 20, 2026
Construction season is here, so we’re back with our weekly look at what projects are done, where you’ll find traffic impacts and what’s scheduled next.
What’s underway
Veterans Parkway: Concrete repairs are underway along Veterans Parkway between 26th and 41st streets.

Work at the 26th Street and Veterans Parkway intersection was completed this weekend.
The outside lanes on 41st Street at Veterans Parkway will be closed for approximately one week.

One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained in the inside lanes. The outside northbound and outside southbound lanes along Veterans Parkway will close midweek between 26th and 41st streets as crews continue work on this project. All work is expected to be complete by the end of July.

Arrowhead & Veterans: Crews continue to make progress on the construction project at the intersection of Arrowhead and Veterans parkways.

Crews have been busy grading, installing gravel and paving some of the future eastbound lanes on Arrowhead east of Veterans.

A major change in the project impacting traffic begins today. Beginning today, Arrowhead Parkway will be fully closed between Veterans Parkway and Hein Avenue to allow crews to complete construction on the east side of the Arrowhead and Veterans intersection.

Traffic should use Sycamore Avenue or Six Mile Road to either Madison Street or 41st Street as alternate routes.

Traffic on Veterans Parkway will be maintained at all times.

Arrowhead Parkway east of Veterans Parkway is expected to reopen to traffic in approximately six weeks.

Once work on the east side of Veterans Parkway is complete, Arrowhead Parkway will be fully closed between Highline Avenue and just west of the Veterans Parkway intersection to allows crews to complete the remainder of the project. All work is expected to be complete later this year.

12th Street: Westbound 12th Street was reduced to one lane of traffic between Kiwanis and Westport avenues on April 17 to allow crews to complete concrete repairs. The location of the lane closure will vary as the work progresses. This work is expected to be complete in about two weeks.
12th Street: Westbound 12th Street was reduced to one lane of traffic between Ebenezer Avenue and Marion Road on April 17 to allow crews to complete concrete repairs. The location of the lane closure will vary as the work progresses. This work is expected to be complete in about two weeks.
Minnesota Avenue: Southbound Minnesota Avenue was reduced to one lane of traffic near Hangar Street on April 17 to allow crews to complete concrete repairs. The location of the lane closure will vary as the work progresses. This work is expected to be complete in about two weeks.
Minnesota Avenue: The outside northbound lane closure on Minnesota Avenue between 31st and 33rd streets is being extended to Friday. The east sidewalk will remain closed with pedestrian traffic detouring to the east along Dakota Avenue. The pedestrian detour will remain in place until the middle of May.
What’s next
Louise Avenue: Beginning today, the outside northbound lane of Louise Avenue will be closed between 49th and 53rd streets to allow crews to complete sidewalk improvements. Work impacting the northbound lanes is expected to be complete in about three weeks. After the work on the east side of the street is complete, work will move to the west side of the street. All work on this project is expected to be complete in late May or early June.
Linedrive Avenue: Beginning today, Linedrive Avenue will be closed between 41st Street and Burnsfield Avenue to allow crews to perform utility work. This work is expected to be complete in about one week.
Minnesota Avenue: Beginning today, the outside northbound lane and parking lane on Minnesota Avenue will be closed between 13th and 14th streets to allow crews to clean windows on an adjacent building. The westbound right turn lane on 14th Street between Dakota and Minnesota avenues also will be closed. This work is expected to be complete in about two days.
