Renovated Ronning Library ready for visitors

The Ronning Library has a new look — and you’re invited to learn more about the latest additions.
“We would encourage people to stop by and check it out,” branch librarian Kim Koblank said.
One of the first changes guests will notice is the library staff seating area. When the library opened in 1994, there were three staff members. Now, 11 librarians work at Ronning, and they need to reconfigure the checkout desk and expand the work areas in the back to accommodate the larger staff.
“It takes some getting used to,” Koblank said. “We’re just excited to have more space to work.”
They also added three study rooms and more computers. The collection hasn’t changed dramatically, but new lighting makes the space lighter and brighter, she said.
There are other fun changes, including a drive-up window. Guests can use it to do curbside pickup or grab their library holds.
With the renovation complete, summer programming is kicking off. The summer reading program begins this week, and the teen programs begin next week. The first teen program is “Goonies” themed, Koblank said. Teen programs require registration, which you can do here.

Preschool storytime resumes Thursday, and baby and toddler storytime sessions resume June 6.
The hours for the Ronning Branch remain the same: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
