Oh My Cupcakes to host city’s first ‘egg drop’

Get ready to hunt for Easter eggs across Sioux Falls with some sweet prizes for those who find them.

Oh My Cupcakes is organizing the communitywide hunt, which will run April 5-9.

Eggs will be hidden in public parks across Sioux Falls and will be filled with prizes, including a lucky golden egg containing a $100 gift card to the cupcake shop.

Clues will be released on the Oh My Cupcakes Facebook page daily.

Golden eggs will be filled with tokens redeemable for a free cupcake, wrapped candy items and gift cards.

“Easter egg hunts are fun, but we recognize that not every family has the time or resources to go to these events when they are scheduled,” owner Melissa Johnson said. “It is important to our Cupcake Ninjas that we reach out and serve many populations and communities in our city. This event brings the Egg Drop to areas in the entire city, thereby allowing lots of people to participate. We are all about creating moments of joy, and this is one more way to do just that.”

As eggs are found, people are encouraged to take pictures of their finds and post the photos on social media using the hashtag #ohmycupcakes. Each account that posts a photo using that hashtag will be entered to win another $100 gift card to Oh My Cupcakes, which will be drawn April 11.
