What’s home unless you make it your own? My 605 takes you inside the lives, loves and little secrets of those who call South Dakota – area code 605 – home.

This week’s My 605 is Arin Gonseth, vice president of finance at MarketBeat and owner of pigeon Piper.

My home in the 605 is: I live in the Aspen Harbor development in Brandon, South Dakota, overlooking the old sand plant pond and baseball fields at Aspen Park. Summer nights are perfect with sounds of music from the pool and loud cheers from the ballfields.

The biggest reason I live in the 605 is: I was born and raised in the 605. I have never had a desire to leave, and my roots are very much planted here surrounded by family and friends.

After home, I spend the most time here: For the last few years, my husband and I have been renovating a cabin at Lake Poinsett. I look forward to the days when we can spend our time at the cabin relaxing. We also spend many weekends and evenings at the ballfields watching my stepson and stepdaughter playing the sports they love.

When I need to get away, you’ll find me: Soaking up the sun on a beach.

The best meal I ever ate in the 605 was at: One of my favorite places in the 605 is Cattleman’s Club Steakhouse in Pierre. More local, Crawford’s is my frequent go-to for date night or All Day Cafe for a Sunday brunch.

My go-to coffee shop is: Queen City Bakery, and although coffee is not my go-to, a savory bagel bomb fresh out of the oven on Thursday or Friday is a part of my regular routine!

My favorite place to grab an adult beverage in the 605 is: Outdoor patio beers are my favorite when South Dakota weather allows. The patios at Crave, Falls Landing and Barrel House are at the top of my list.

When I need to experience the great outdoors, you’ll find me: I love to experience the great outdoors visiting Bonesteel, South Dakota – home to one of my best friends. Or more locally and frequently, I enjoy the outdoors right out my backyard on the pond.

The spot I’d recommend for a date is: Taking in a concert at Levitt at the Falls or an evening enjoying downtown Sioux Falls.

The best pizza in the 605 is: Defining the best is tough. I enjoy Papa Woody’s and Sunny’s Pizzeria frequently – and am really looking forward to trying Charlie’s Pizza.

When my friends and I get together, you’ll probably find us: Catching up with drinks on a patio or seeing a concert at the Event Center.

The place you never can go wrong taking kids is: Hiking at Good Earth State Park, Newton Hills or Palisades State Park.

When I want to meet new people in the 605 I go: Whether attending an event or going to a coffee shop, downtown is always full of people to meet – one of the reasons that I love working downtown!

My best memory in the 605 is: My husband and I got married downtown on the back patio of 8th & Railroad on a Tuesday. It was  small, simple and perfect for us.

The one thing I’m least crazy about in the 605 is: The wind.

And finally, life in pictures. Here are the top three photos that most sum up My 605:
