Levitt at the Falls will hold 50 free concerts this season, including two new genres.

Concerts at the Levitt Shell at Falls Park West will start May 31 and run every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night through Aug. 31, with Friday and Saturday shows going through Sept. 14.

The 2024 Levitt season will feature local, regional, national and international acts of every musical style, including two new genres, Latin and R&B soul, alongside Americana, blues, country, hip-hop, indie, rock, world and family genres.

“Our mission at Levitt at the Falls is to build our community through music, which means that we strive to offer a diverse selection of music that represents everyone in Sioux Falls,” president and CEO Nancy Halverson said in a statement.

“This year, we’ve continued to build upon that goal by introducing even more genres that represent the many different musical interests and cultural backgrounds of our community.”

Opening night will feature Grammy Award-winning Creole band Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience. To close out the season, Simien’s daughter, indie blues artist Marcella Simien, will take the stage Sept. 14.

Other season highlights include Grammy winners Los Texmaniacs, a conjunto rock and blues band, who will perform as part of the LLS Multi-Cultural Center’s Festival of Cultures on June 8. To celebrate Independence Day, Kory & the Fireflies will return to the Levitt stage on July 4 for a patriotic rock-and-roll celebration. On Aug. 9, the Levitt National Foundation will bring multi Grammy-nominated duo The War and Treaty for an evening of blues, gospel, soul, bluegrass and country.

Each Levitt concert will include opening acts as well as headlining bands, a variety of food vendors and drinks available through JJ’s Wine & Spirits. The music starts at 7 p.m. every night, with vendors ready on the lawn by 6 p.m. Concerts will be livestreamed online and projected on a large video board on-site in partnership with South Dakota Public Broadcasting.

MarketBeat is supporting Levitt’s free concerts as the 2024 season presenting sponsor.

“MarketBeat loves to sponsor events that are accessible to everyone and bring the community together,” said Matt Paulson, founder and CEO of MarketBeat, which offers free stock research tools to investors at all levels on its website and through daily newsletters. “Levitt at the Falls provides fun, free and family-friendly entertainment, and we are thrilled to help bring this year’s season to Sioux Falls.”
