Here’s a first: Outdoor pools close for poor air quality
All the smoke in the air has resulted in Sioux Falls closing all public outdoor pools for the remainder of the day.

It’s the first time that has ever happened as far as parks director Don Kearney can remember.
But because of the air quality and out of caution, the pools are closed and are scheduled to reopen at 1 p.m. Friday.
The smoke and haze in the air are because of a north wind and wildfires in Canada.
The Midco Aquatic Center is open for regularly scheduled hours of 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
