Great Bear takes second annual Park Madness title

Voters must have been in the mood to ski, bike and hike: Great Bear Ski Valley has won this year’s Park Madness competition.

The city of Sioux Falls invited park users to rate their favorite park and park attractions in a bracket-style competition beginning with 64 entries.

Last year’s champion, Tuthill Park, made it to this year’s final four, along with Falls Park and McKennan Park.

Parks were seeded based on:

• Attendance data: Which parks do you visit the most.
• Unique amenities: Who has the best playgrounds, basketball courts and pools.
• Wildlife and nature: Which spots have the best trees and river views.
• Beauty: Which parks are the most beautiful for a family photo.

As this year’s winner, Great Bear will receive a 2026 championship sign to display at its entrance.
