New collections debut for spring at Montgomery’s
This piece is sponsored by Montgomery’s.
Whether you love country living, embrace the latest in technology or are looking for an on-trend update, Montgomery’s has new vendors and collections as you update your home this spring.
“When we decide to bring in a vendor, we always visit a handful of times at High Point Market first to make sure they will make good partners,” director of merchandising Jessica Clayton said.

“We’re looking for quality, outstanding customer service and incredible value so we can offer people the best.”
With the new addition to Montgomery’s opening soon in Sioux Falls, the design and merchandising teams have even more space to offer new furnishings to fit a range of budgets.
“We’re really able to offer a wide variety for all our customers,” Clayton said.
Here’s a look at four new additions in Montgomery’s showrooms already or arriving soon.
Embrace country living
A new collection called Vintage Market is a collaboration between Country Living magazine and Legacy Classic Furniture – a curated line of exclusive pieces that help create a lifestyle rooted in authenticity.
You’ll find styles from European Country to Shaker to Victorian, giving the feeling of “found pieces” that might have come from an antique market or handed down through generations.

“We love showing a full collection on our showrooms because it helps a customer visualize what a room can look like,” Clayton said.
“If you decide you love the whole collection, you can select furniture for nearly any room in your home. Or if you want a more eclectic feel, our designers can help you select pieces individually.”
The whole-home collection has numerous pieces in a wide assortment of finishes. Crafted of oak veneers and hardwoods, core finishes include barnwood, kettle black and picket fence, with accent finishes such as mallard green, Northern moss and spiced apple. A mix of custom hardware in coordinating finishes helps complete the look.
“This collection has Country Living in its branding, but really it can look however you’d like once you accessorize it,” Clayton said.
“Our team can help create a look that’s more transitional or subtle along with, of course, that classic, timeless feel.”
Emerging aesthetic
Montgomery’s new Pagosa collection is definitely worth a look if you’re looking to update.
“It’s great quality with some really unique features,” Clayton said. “It’s a knotty oak, a beautiful neutral color with rounded edges that are definitely trending.”

This also is a whole-home collection, so you’ll find pieces from bedroom sets to sofas, dining sets, home office furniture and popular nesting cocktail tables.

“These pieces aren’t hard lines and edges,” Clayton said. “The rounded curve is really highlighted in the industry now, and this collection also features unique bow tie insets, soft-close drawers and even cord management in the nightstands.”
Smart Comfort
Get ready to view your next game or favorite movie in a whole new way once you discover the emerging “Smart Comfort” collection Montgomery’s is beginning to display.

“Think movie theater meets massage chair meets immersive experience,” Clayton said. “And all in your living room sofa.”
Along with incorporating the features into sofas, you’ll find smart-home pieces in sectionals, love seats and recliners.
“Not everyone has the opportunity for home surround sound or space for a massage chair. This reclining furniture can incorporate all those features at the touch of buttons,” Clayton said.

“Once people realize what’s possible with this furniture, they’re definitely excited about it. These pieces aren’t just great quality but offer a lot of value, so we’re excited to make them available to more people.”
Outdoor living
The snow looks to be gone for the season, just in time for the Montgomery’s patio furniture collection to arrive.

“We’re rolling it out over the next few weeks, and it’s always fun to start thinking about updating your outdoor living,” Clayton said. “Sometimes, we get a short window for that in South Dakota, so it’s important to make the most of it.”

Montgomery’s chooses patio furniture designed to withstand South Dakota’s unpredictable weather and wind.

“We’re looking for the best quality at a really great look and price point,” Clayton said. “Adirondack furniture is a strong answer for that. It’s made with repurposed milk jugs, and the color goes all the way through the piece, so it’s high-quality, heavy furniture that holds up very well.”
Look for a few new colors this year, including a new shade of green. There’s also a new rocker chair.

“We set up patio furniture both outside and inside our stores, as well as on our website, for people to shop. Whether they want to buy pieces to take right away or customize colors just for their home, options are endless,” Clayton said.
