Here’s some encouraging news: Sioux Falls ranks among the least-stressed cities in the nation.

A study by personal finance website WalletHub found that Sioux Falls residents are the third least-stressed out of 182 cities surveyed. The analysis looked at 39 key metrics, from average weekly work hours and the unemployment rate to divorce and suicide rates.

Sioux Falls ranked 37th in average weekly hours worked — with first being the worst — but well above average in several metrics:

  • 181st – percentage of adults in fair/poor health
  • 175th – percentage of adults with inadequate sleep
  • 164th – unemployment rate
  • 155th – poverty rate
  • 145th – job security
  • 137th – divorce rate

South Burlington, Vermont, and Fremont, California, were the only cities ranked as less stressed than Sioux Falls.
