A major new permanent art installation will be unveiled this week outside the Washington Pavilion.

The piece, called Cyclicality, was privately funded and is the work of artist-engineer Jen Lewin, who has won international acclaim for her work.

The immersive piece features 11 towering dichroic infinity mirrored prisms, ranging from 13 to 21 feet tall. By day, the prisms reflect sunlight and natural surroundings; by night, they transform into an interactive field of vibrant, color-shifting light.

It will be unveiled at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Paladino Hohm Sculpture Garden.

Cyclicality was a gift from donors in honor of the Washington Pavilion’s 25th anniversary.

Based in Brooklyn, New York, Lewin has worked as an artist for 27 years. She has honed her architectural background and a highly technical medium to fabricate large-scale, interactive sculptures that encourage community connection and play.
