Businesses partner to help tackle school lunch debt
Three businesses will host a fundraiser Friday designed to address school lunch debt in Sioux Falls.
At the end of 2022, the Sioux Falls School District announced families have accrued more than $100,000 in student lunch debt.

The Settle the Debt fundraiser will be from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at Severance Brewing Co., 701 N. Phillips Ave.
The Casual Campfire Supply Co. will hold a pop-up shop with a portion of sales going to the effort. The business sells camping-related gear, from apparel and backpacks to fire pucks and accessories.
A school lunch-inspired meal will be offered from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. by Taverns + Tots, featuring sloppy joes, potato chips and baked beans. Ten percent of sales will be donated.
Live music from Brady Wrede will be offered from 7 to 9 p.m.
Severance will donate $1 per pint sold at the event to the cause. The brewery’s guests also can round up their tabs through the month of March, and 100 percent of those funds collected will be donated.
