4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

Pizza Cheeks inside The Hello Hi added a few specialty house pies to its menu in the past few months, and the Tiny Dancer might have you singing “hold me closer, tiny dancer.” It features a pesto base, fresh and dry mozzarella, roasted mushrooms, Mama Lil’s Peppers, red onion, pecorino and “BreadCrunch.” Want meat? Add your favorite choice for $3. Get it on an 18-inch hand-stretched crust or a 12-inch gluten-free crust.

While the Downtown Burger Battle was raging, TapHouse 41 at the Western Mall created its own special burger. Catch the Better Late Than Never for the next week or two. A signature house patty is topped with 2 ounces of duck confit — duck cooked in its own fat — along with watercress, arugula, pickled radish and fennel, brie cheese, red onion, truffle aioli, and a Sriracha and duck fat infused vinegar.

Fazoli’s has jumped on the regional flavor bandwagon with Nashville Hot Wings. Boneless or traditional wings are fried until crispy and then tossed in a spicy sauce made with brown sugar, garlic, paprika and cayenne pepper. It’s being marketed as a limited-time flavor.

McDonald’s is encouraging menu hacks with a limited-time offer when you order through the restaurant’s app. There are several creations that can be concocted, including this one — the Surf & Turf, which layers two beef patties with a Filet-O-Fish.
