4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

Here’s a new dish that would be fun to enjoy with visitors for the holidays. La Plaza Fiesta has created Parrillada Grande. It includes a rib-eye steak, grilled chicken breast, combo fajita, chorizo, bacon-wrapped shrimp, grilled shrimp, two mini quesadillas, potatoes, cactus, sweet corn, pepper jack cheese, onions and jalapenos. It’s served with rice and beans.

Another good holiday outing would be the new Union Social at Air Madness in Harrisburg, which offers fun for all ages from bowling and arcade games to axe throwing for those 14 and older, but there’s also a full-service restaurant and bar. While there are burgers and flatbreads, our pick is the Chimi Pork Sammi. Braised pork shoulder is shredded and topped with chimichurri slaw and crema. It’s served on a hoagie roll and comes with a side. The restaurant opens daily at 11 a.m.

Roots of Brasil has a new featured menu that’s available all winter. Manga Chutney Curry Chicken features tumeric-spiced chicken with bell peppers, cilantro, onion and mango chutney, and green onions, served with rice.

For dessert, The Barrel House has a new dish, the Loaded Ice Cream Sundae. Vanilla ice cream is piled high with chocolate sauce, caramel, cookie crumbles, banana chips, strawberries and cherries. It’s garnished with toasted pecans and whipped cream.
