4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

Combination of high-end pastry and pizza? Sure! Look’s Bakehouse in Look’s Marketplace has started making Pizza Croissants. They’re filled with cheese, marinara and pepperoni, and the top of the pastry is dusted with Italian seasoning and Parmesan. Call ahead to check availability, or take your chances and stop in — you’ll always find something tasty in the bakery case.

Fall features at Cracker Barrel include Fried Apple French Toast Bake. Slices of French toast are topped with fried apples and a brown sugar streusel. It’s served with butter pecan syrup and your choice of bacon or sausage.

New menu items at Grille 26 include the Italian classic Chicken Piccata. Pan-seared chicken is served in a lemon butter caper sauce, along with spaghetti in an alfredo sauce.

A popular Southern dessert is the inspiration for the Banana Pudding Milkshake at Chick-fil-A. “Hand-spun the old-fashioned way, this refreshing milkshake features Chick-fil-A Icedream dessert mixed with banana and vanilla wafer cookie crumbles, topped off with whipped cream and a cherry,” the restaurant said.  The milkshake hasn’t been on the menu since its limited appearance in 2011 and is available again for a limited time. Will it be 2037 before it appears again?
