Get ready for the biggest holiday season ever at the Washington Pavilion.

From new additions to favorite traditions, there are activities inside and out for all ages – starting this weekend.

“We are thrilled to provide a great new set of holiday opportunities and annual traditions to our community this season,” said Darrin Smith, president and CEO.

“From great holiday shows and entertainment, Santa visits, ‘The Polar Express’ movie and a nightly outdoor light show to the largest, most amazing Christmas tree – something I have coined as the ‘Rockefeller tree of Sioux Falls.’ We couldn’t be happier to be enjoying the return of many great activities in our venues again and enhancing the quality of life for our city’s residents and visitors.”

There’s so much to share that we’re making the list for you. Take a look at these top 10 ways you can make the most of this holiday season with a trip to the Washington Pavilion.

Help light the Christmas tree

Here’s the first date to mark on the calendar: Nov. 26, when the Pavilion’s beautifully decorated 45-foot Christmas tree officially will light up for the season.

Head to the corner of 11th Street and Main Avenue at 7 p.m., where free cookies and hot cocoa sponsored by Hy-Vee will be waiting and special guests will help light up Sioux Falls’ largest Christmas tree. Thanks to POET for making it possible!

Can’t make it downtown? Tune in from home, and watch the event live on the Washington Pavilion Facebook page!

Take in outdoor holiday decor, nightly light show

This is a fantastic addition to the Washington Pavilion! Beginning Nov. 26, from dusk until dawn, the Paladino Hohm Sculpture Garden will host a must-see outdoor light show synced to favorite holiday songs.

Tune your radio to 97.7 FM or walk around amid the stunning holiday trees, lights, garland and decorations.
