They painted the plows — now you get to vote

You might not be eager to see them on the streets yet — but at least the plows will be looking a little prettier once they do.

The annual Paint the Plow event allows elementary, middle, junior high and high schools within Sioux Falls to paint a blade with a holiday design. This year, 16 schools participated.

The street division put a primer coat on the plow blades, and the schools and organizations supply the paint. The participants receive the plows approximately one week after the start of school and complete their works of art one week before the display.

The city of Sioux Falls does not censor the content or any viewpoints on the artwork. Any messages or views expressed are not those of the city, nor endorsed by the city.
