Oct. 31: It’s finally Halloween

It’s officially Haloween, and if you’re not staying home to greet trick-or-treaters, you might enjoy taking the youngsters to the Old Courthouse Museum, 200 W. Sixth St. From 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, there’s trick-or-treating in the museum galleries, with a scavenger hunt, crafts and other activities. It is free.

Plus, it’s Mall-o-Ween at The Empire Mall from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday. There will be trick-or-treating throughout the mall at participating stores, along with a photo booth area near center court.

Nov. 2: Make a turkey

Time to pay attention to Thanksgiving. AMC Collective, 2119 S. Minnesota Ave., is giving you the chance to make — not roast — a turkey. The felt creation can be turned into a magnet or an ornament. Stop in anytime Saturday. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Nov. 2: Pumpkin roll

OK, just one more Halloween-adjacent event. Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation is hosting its second annual Great Pumpkin Roll. Bring your pumpkins Saturday to the top of the Tuthill Park hill, and let them roll. Prizes will be awarded. The farthest-to-roll contest will begin at 2 p.m., with the shortest-to-roll event at 3 p.m. There also will be pumpkin-flavored snacks, apple cider, games and crafts. Bring your pumpkins and a blanket. The fun will run from 1 to 4 p.m.

Nov. 2: Olsen Brothers

Ralph and Greg Olsen & Friends will provide the entertainment at what’s being billed as the Olsen Brothers’ First Show. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Trio Jazz Club, 340 S. Main Ave., and run until 8 p.m. But there’s more — The Olsen Brothers’ Second Show will begin at 9 p.m.

Nov. 3: Dash for Ronald McDonald

Come support pediatric oncology patients, and run a little with friends. All proceeds from the Christmas Tree Skirt Dash will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Sioux Falls. The start time is 11 a.m. Sunday with 5K, 2-mile and 1-mile options. It’s a fun run, but there will be prizes for the top three in each distance. Sign up here.

Nov. 4: Anniversary celebration

Join the SuFuDu Drumline for its 30-year celebration from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Expansion plans for 2025 will be highlighted, featuring a new winter concert percussion ensemble starting in January and a Girls Who Drum one-day camp. The event will take place at the State Theatre in downtown Sioux Falls.
