Nov. 12: ‘Good Form’ at Fresh Produce

The Ipso Gallery at Fresh Produce is opening another show this week, and the opening night event will be Friday. The show, titled “Good Form,” will feature work from Sioux Falls native Eli Show and New York-based artist Paul Dressen. The exhibit will “explore our relationship to sports through observation, craftsmanship and a childlike love of play” through Show’s work with construction-inspired materials and Dressen’s work with golf clubs. The opening-night reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Ipso Gallery, 400 N. Main Ave. The art will be up until Jan. 28.

Nov. 12-13: Holiday Fest at the Nest

The biannual Junk Fest at the Nest flea market will be hosting a holiday edition of its popular market. The flea market will feature many vendors, including Robyn’s Nest, Yesterday’s Junk and Judy’s Treasures. Items sold will include vintage items, holiday decor and much more. The market will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 3720 S River Bluff Rd.

Nov. 12-13: Sioux Empire Arts & Craft Show

The Sioux Empire Arts & Craft Show is coming to the Expo Building at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. The show consists of over 100 vendors offering handmade items from jewelry to fine arts to furniture. There also will be food and gourmet coffee served. The show will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $7 for adults and children 12 and younger are free.

Nov. 13: Yogafest

The third annual Sioux Falls Yogafest will take place Saturday at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. The event, which is packed with a full day of activities, costs $55, and registration is available until the day of the event. Yogafest will include classes for teachers, beginners and those who just enjoy yoga, as well as vendors and an Experience Box for every participant. Activities will begin at 8 a.m., and registration is available at dennysanfordpremiercenter.com.

Nov. 13: Birch Centerpiece Workshop

Landscape Garden Centers is hosting a workshop to help you create your very own holiday decorations this season. The Birch Centerpiece Workshop will give you a chance to create a birch log or disc decor piece using berries, cones and greenery. The fee for the workshop is $10, which includes cost of materials. The workshop is from 2 to 3 p.m. You can register at landscapegardencenters.com/events.

Nov. 15: Recycling Olympics

Celebrate National Recycling Day with Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation at the Recycling Olympics. Activities in the Olympics will include a recycling relay race, aluminum can bowling and a water bottle toss. At the end, kids will receive a recycled “gold” medal and more knowledge about how to keep their house eco-friendly. Registration is required and costs $5. The event will be from 6 to 7 p.m. at the MariCar Community Center. You can register at register.siouxfallsparks.org.

Nov. 15: Sculpture Projects with the Museum of Visual Materials

As a part of its home-schooled classes, the Museum of Visual Materials will be hosting a class focused on the work of artist Alexander Calder. Kids will learn about the life and work of Calder as well as learning to make their own sculptures inspired by his work, which consists of “found” materials and scrap pieces. The class is meant for children 8 and older, and will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Registration costs $5 and can be completed at sfmvm.com.
