July 2: Farmers market
Sanford Wellness Center, 4201 S. Oxbow Ave., will host its Tuesday Farmer’s Market with vendors, food trucks and outdoor fitness classes for the community. It will run from 4 to 7 p.m.

July 3: Yoga at the farm
Fruit of the Coop, Joy Collective Yoga Studio and Sarah Joy will present a yoga session at at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Fruit of the Coop, 8700 E. Sunset Circle, Brandon. You can purchase tickets here. You’ll join Sarah from Joy Collective Yoga Studio as she leads you through mindful movement and honoring the breath. And you can pick up pasture-raised eggs . A single drop-in class costs $18.

July 4: Independence Day
We listed some Fourth of July activities last week. But if you’re still undecided, here are a few more to consider:
- BB’s Pub, 5402 W. University Trail, will host its second annual Independence Day Event with a Big Dog Eating Contest, Pub Olympics, live music and a Kidney Foundation Happy Hour. Fifty percent of registration fees will be donated to The Kidney Foundation to help aid families and fund continued research to improve the lives of those affected with kidney-related illnesses. Cash prizes will be awarded. It begins at noon, and children are welcome until 9 p.m.
- 49th Street Liquor, 3601 S. Minnesota Ave., will host a local car, truck and UTV meet from 5 to 10 p.m.
- Friends of Blue Mounds State Park near Luverne, Minnesota, will host a presentation on two American icons, the bald eagle and the buffalo, at 8 p.m. You’ll learn the comeback stories of these two majestic species. Bring a chair because seating is limited, and use the main entrance to meet at the amphitheater.

July 8: ‘Found’ art
The Museum of Visual Materials will host an Adult Art Found Object Assemblage for those age 13 and older at 7 p.m. Monday, July 8. Inspired by Louise Nevelson’s work, participants will create a sculpture using items that have interesting shapes, sizes and textures. Items selected will be assembled and then painted one color to create a whole new work of art. Class fee is $20 per person. All supplies are included. Register in advance here.

July 9: Teaching tour
You can tour the eight beds in the newly expanded teaching garden at the Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum, 1900 S. Perry Place, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9. Asparagus, rhubarb, strawberry, tomato, pepper, cool-season vegetable, warm-season vegetable and space-saving beds were started this year. Minnehaha Master Gardener bed managers will be on hand to explain and answer questions.

July 10: Wild Horses
Hailing from northern Minnesota, Wild Horses makes a home among the traditions of folk, western and rock music. Front man Jed LaPlant draws inspiration from the simple storytelling of traditional music but offers a more dynamic and driving approach sonically. Wild Horses crafts the ability to draw in listeners with both captivating melodies and a hard-hitting drive in the same live experience. Wild Horses will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at 1016 W. 41st St. J. Rieck Music is the host.

July 10: Chill at the Hill
Relax with an evening at The Bear with the first of three Chill at the Hill events. From 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, Great Bear Recreation Park will be the site of live music by Brady Wrede and food and treats from Clifford’s Doggone Cart and Oh My Cupcakes. Beer and wine will be served. Other upcoming dates are July 17 and 24.
