Jan. 15: Photo class

Want to make the most of your cellphone photos? Andrew Peschong will offer a phone photography class teaching the tips and tricks to capture everyday moments. It will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Billie Arthur Design Studio, 140 E. Hinks Lane. After the class, Peschong will showcase and discuss some of his original works, which will be on exhibition and available for purchase. Refreshments will be served. Cost is $50. Jan. 16-18: Crazy days

It’s Winter Crazy Days at participating Lake Lorraine businesses. The sales will begin at 10 a.m. Friday and end at 8 p.m. Sunday. It’s a great chance to support local businesses and save.

Jan. 17: Wild about Turtles

In collaboration with the Great Plains Zoo and Butterfly House & Aquarium, the Washington Pavilion’s Wild About Science series brings live animals and family fun together from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, focusing on turtles and tortoises. It’s included with museum admission and free for members.

Jan. 17: Skate party

Be part of a skate party where you’ll meet and skate with beloved princesses. The Prince & Princess Skate Party at Jacobson Plaza, 810 N. Phillips Ave., runs from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $5. You can register here.

Jan. 17: Rock out

Come rock out with The PsyDeFects at Ken’s Korner, 918 W. Sixth St., at 8 p.m. Saturday. The Sioux Falls-area band offers original music and well-known rock ‘n’ roll covers. The event will run until at least midnight.

Jan. 20: Paint-in

The Great Plains Watercolor Society will host a paint-in at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ronning Branch Library, 3100 E. 49th St. Participants will make Valentine’s Day cards for LifeScape clients. Kathleen Threadgood will lead the activity.
