May 1: Organic plant sale
Cherry Rock Farms at 48105 264th St., south of Brandon, will host a plant sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. All plants are organic. Offerings include cherry tomatoes, peppers, celery, herbs, melons, zinnias, marigolds and geraniums and other vegetable-garden plants.

May 1: Art &Wine Walk
Friday marks the beginning of Open Streets, hosted by Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. Here’s one suggestion for the Spring Art & Wine Walk: Nunzios, 318 N. Reid Place. It will feature original work from local artists Laurel Lather, Angie Lennartson and Tammy Hoppe, with wines selected by Nunzios’ in-house sommelier. The restaurant also will be open for dine-in and to-go. The event will begin at 5 p.m. Friday. Here’s a complete schedule.

May 1: Music and poetry
Myrtle’s Speakeasy, 208 S. Main Ave., will host an evening of poetry and music Friday. The Dakota Guitar Duo will offer classical, Latin and folk music woven with Sandra Looney presenting poetry spanning decades. It will run from 8:30 to 11 p.m. Cost is $5. Entry is through the alley.

May 2 and 5: Double celebration
Blarney Stone Pub, 333 S. Phillips Ave., will host two celebrations over one long weekend. Derby Day specials Saturday will include mint juleps and derby peach cocktails. Women who wear derby hats Saturday will receive a free derby drink. Cinco de Mayo specials Tuesday include Irish margaritas, ClawRitas and micheladas.

May 2: Cinco de Mayo
Dahlia Kitchen + Bar and The Steel District, 150 E. Fourth Place, will celebrate Cinco de Mayo from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday. There will be drink specials, patio games, a nacho-eating contest and more. Make a reservation to stay in the loop as more details drop.

May 3: Loyalty Day parade
VFW Three Rivers Post No. 4736 will host the 60th annual Brandon Loyalty Day parade at 1 p.m. Sunday. The route will start at the Brandon Valley High School parking lot, move west on Holly Boulevard, turn south on Main Avenue and end at the Brandon VFW. Food trucks will be available in the VFW parking lot. Bike raffle tickets will be available beginning at 10 a.m. for the donation of a nonperishable food item for the Brandon Area Food Pantry. The child must be present to choose a bike if the winning ticket is drawn.

May 3: SculptureWalk talk
The Watering Can and SculptureWalk will host SculptureWalk: SculptureTalk, three artists discussing their work, from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the MarketBeat Theater at Startup Sioux Falls, 100 E. Sixth St. Featured artists will include Luke Achterberg of La Crosse, Wisconsin; Nathan Johansen of Provo, Utah, and Sunghee Min of Roseville, Minnesota. Visitors should enter on the StartUp building’s east side.
