Amazing things happen in our schools every day — if you know where to look! Do you know some school news others would love? Let us know at [email protected].

What a fun start to the day at John Harris Elementary! Students arrived to find the staff dressed as cartoon characters. The staff members were grouped into “gift-giving/cartoon teams” and have been contributing to donation baskets the past few weeks.

Ugly sweater day brought a great surprise at Rosa Parks Elementary, where Scheels team members stopped by with a gift card for clothing items and games for the students.

Here’s a fun, festive tradition at JFK Elementary: Fifth graders decorate their table spaces for the season, making a fun and festive classroom environment.

We’re also impressed by the third grade candy houses at R.F. Pettigrew Elementary that now line the library!

Definitely seems like a week to feature a beach-themed holiday program. This is “Pirate Christmas” at St. Michael Elementary.

They built “snowmen” in gym class at Garfield Elementary with a little creativity this week.

And finally, learn the news from the students themselves with this recent newscast from the Career & Technical Education Academy.
