Road Report: Oct. 27, 2025
Construction season is here, so we’re back with our weekly look at what projects are done, where you’ll find traffic impacts and what’s scheduled next.
What’s underway
Arrowhead Parkway: This year’s work on Arrowhead Parkway east of Veterans Parkway is starting to wind down.

Crews are working on constructing a temporary transition from the existing pavement in the intersection to the new pavement going east – the new intersection will be about 5 feet lower than the existing intersection.

Work is continuing on turn lanes, curb and gutter, storm drainage piping and other miscellaneous work as the end of the construction season draws near.

Arrowhead Parkway will reopen to one lane of traffic in each direction in late November.

Work will begin again in the spring and last throughout the 2026 construction season.

South Veterans Parkway: Work continues to progress on the new segment of South Veterans Parkway between Cliff and Sycamore avenues.

All of the girders, or beams, for the bridge over the railroad tracks have been set, and the contractor is starting to work on getting the steel reinforcement for the bridge deck prepared in anticipation of pouring the concrete for the bridge deck later this fall or early next spring.

Grading work is mostly complete throughout the project.

Storm drainage pipe installation and gravel placement are in progress.

Sycamore and Southeastern avenues remain closed between 69th and 85th streets but are expected to reopen to traffic for the winter by late November.

All work on this project will not be complete until late 2026.
Minnesota Avenue: The outside northbound lane of Minnesota Avenue closed between 28th and 29th streets on Oct. 22 to allow crews to complete concrete repairs. This work is expected to be complete in about one week.
What’s next
Bobhalla Avenue: Beginning today, Bobhalla Avenue will be closed from 54th Street North to Bobhalla Drive to allow crews to perform utility and street resurfacing work. This work is expected to be complete in about one week.
Rice Street: Beginning today, right-of-way work will impact traffic on Rice Street from Cleveland Avenue to the entrance of Great Bear Recreation Park. Traffic will be maintained but may be delayed while work is in progress. This work is expected to be complete by the end of the day.
Veterans Parkway: Beginning today, the outside southbound lane of Veterans Parkway will be closed south of 41st Street to allow crews to complete concrete repairs. This work is expected to be complete in about one week.
22nd Street: Beginning today, the parking lane and sidewalk on the south side of 22nd Street will be closed from Lincoln Road to Lyndale Avenue to allow crews to perform drainage work. Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the north sidewalk. This work is expected to be complete in about two weeks.
Veterans Parkway: Beginning on Tuesday, the inside southbound lane of Veterans Parkway will be closed south of Maple Street to allow crews to complete concrete repairs. This work is expected to be complete in about one week.
