Road Report: Aug. 8, 2022
Construction season is here, so we’re back with our weekly look at what projects are done, where you’ll find traffic impacts and what’s scheduled next.
What’s underway
Arrowhead & Six Mile Road: Good progress is being made on the Arrowhead Parkway and Six Mile Road reconstruction/expansion project. Grading and underground utility installation is continuing along Arrowhead.

Arrowhead is closed between Six Mile Road and the Willow Run Golf Course entrance so contractors can install a 8-foot-by-8-foot box culvert across the roadway. This culvert is approximately 20 feet deep. Arrowhead Parkway will remain closed until early October. The detour route is 26th Street and Veterans Parkway.
Concrete paving is in progress along Six Mile Road.

Six Mile Road is still closed but is expected to reopen to traffic at the end of this week or early the following week.

Cliff Avenue: Progress is also being made on Cliff Avenue between 49th and 56th streets. All underground utility work is now complete, and the contractor is getting ready for concrete paving this week.

Cliff remains closed between 49th and 57th streets, but one lane of traffic in each direction will be open before school starts this fall.
Cliff Avenue: Work also is progressing on the concrete repairs on Cliff Avenue between 26th Street and Pam Road.

The work in front of Lincoln High School will be complete and all lanes open to traffic before school starts.

Work still will be taking place between 26th and 33rd streets for a week or two after school starts.

What’s next
41st & Terry: Beginning today, the north side of the intersection at 41st Street and Terry Avenue will be closed temporarily for underground utility work. This work is expected to be completed by the end of the workday.
Sixth & Prairie: Beginning on Tuesday, crews will be performing repairs to a sanitary sewer manhole at Sixth Street and Prairie Avenue. There will be lane width restrictions on Sixth Street and intermittent road closures on Prairie Avenue as the work progresses. This work is expected to be complete in one week.
