Road Report: Aug. 22, 2022

Construction season is here, so we’re back with our weekly look at what projects are done, where you’ll find traffic impacts and what’s scheduled next.

What’s underway

41st & Marion: Marion Road north of 41st Street has reopened to traffic! 41st Street traffic remains reduced to one lane in each direction between Marion Road and Interstate 29. Crews are working on the storm drainage system piping.

After that work is complete, grading, gravel and paving will occur. Work on 41st Street west of I-29 will be complete this fall.

Six Mile & Arrowhead: Six Mile Road north and south of Arrowhead Parkway has reopened to traffic! Arrowhead will remain closed between Six Mile Road and the Willow Run Golf Course entrance until early October.

The detour route for Arrowhead is 26th Street and Veterans Parkway.

Cliff Avenue: Cliff Avenue south of 33rd Street in front of Lincoln High School will be fully open today or Tuesday.

Work will continue on Cliff Avenue between 26th and 33rd streets for a few more weeks.

Cliff Avenue between 49th and 56th streets is expected to reopen Wednesday.

What’s next

26th Street: Beginning today, the eastbound lane of 26th Street between 10th and Sherman avenues will be closed to allow crews to perform concrete joint repairs. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained in the westbound and left turn lanes. In the upcoming weeks, the location of the lane closures on 26th will vary. At a minimum, one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open at all times. Access to businesses also will be maintained. This work is anticipated to be complete by Labor Day.

Cliff Avenue: Beginning today, the outside southbound lane of Cliff Avenue between 11th and 26th streets will be closed to allow crews to perform concrete repairs in preparation for an asphalt overlay. In the upcoming weeks, the location of the lane closures on Cliff will vary. At a minimum, one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open at all times. Access to businesses will be maintained. This work is anticipated to be complete by mid-October.
