Popular EmBe closet sale returns as way to refresh wardrobe, support women’s programs
This paid event listing is sponsored by EmBe.
Update your wardrobe ahead of the holiday season and the new year with EmBe’s popular Winter Refresh Your Closet Sale this Friday and Saturday.
The quarterly event is a fundraiser and will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, with a bag sale from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. It will be at EmBe’s downtown location, 300 W. 11th St.
Shop gently used clothing, shoes and accessories while supporting EmBe’s mission of empowering women and providing economic independence.

“Shoppers can experience a wide range of women’s clothing and accessories tailored to the cooler weather. We also have Christmas sweaters!” said Courtney Hardie, women’s program manager.
“This isn’t your neighborhood thrift store. We make intentional decisions on keeping quality clothing, and many are name-brand. Our gym is transformed into a pop-up boutique where women shop for a cause.”
This fundraising event is one of the last opportunities this year to raise major funds for EmBe women’s programs, she added.
“Our workforce development programs are free to women in the community – but free doesn’t mean to us,” Hardie said. “You are shopping to allow us to cover costs to keep our programs free to women in the community.”

Volunteers also are needed to help with the sale on Friday and Saturday, including tear down. Sign up here: Closet Sale: November Closet Sale Volunteers 2024.
“Involvement with us as a client or volunteer allows you to shop on VIP day, which is this Thursday before we open to the public – another perk of being involved with EmBe women’s programs,” Hardie said.

While EmBe is no longer accepting clothing donations for this sale, you can start contributing again Monday.
“Be thoughtful about the clothing you donate,” Hardie suggested. “A good question to ask yourself when donating is ‘Would I feel confident today wearing this to work?’”
