What’s home unless you make it your own? My 605 takes you inside the lives, loves and little secrets of those who call South Dakota – area code 605 – home. This week’s My 605 features Kayla Waldner, assistant director of corporate partners at GreatLIFE Golf & Fitness and owner of pigeon Peggy,

My home in the 605 is: I live on the southeastern side of Sioux Falls. I like to think I live on the flourishing part of Sioux Falls – the amount of growth I have seen in the last two years is incredible.

The biggest reason I live in the 605 is: My roots are here, and family is everything to me. Sioux Falls is a perfect place to grow as there is endless opportunity here. Our city is growing, and there is so much potential to follow your dreams.

After home, I spend the most time here: GreatLIFE Golf & Fitness is my home away from home. I have been with the company for five years and truly love what I do.

When I need to get away, you’ll find me: If I need a getaway outside of the 605, you’ll probably find me in Minneapolis at a Vikings or Timberwolves game. I also love country concerts with friends.

The best meal I ever ate in the 605 was at: Chef Lance’s on Phillips – beef Wellington plus mac and cheese egg roll – or Look’s Marketplace, I have never had something I did not like.

My go-to coffee shop is: My go-to coffee date spot is Coffea, I love their cafe miel. The Source downtown has the best London fog in town.

My favorite place to grab an adult beverage in the 605 is: Bin 201. My favorite Moscow mule, summer patio, live music and atmosphere.

When I need to experience the great outdoors, you’ll find me: Creating content for Instagram in random fields, parks and ditches with my friend Mikkelle. Camping with friends in Yankton.

The spot I’d recommend for a date is: My boyfriend and I love date nights. I would personally recommend Bin 201 patio in the summer – they usually have live music – or a downtown restaurant. My personal favorites are Crawford’s, Minervas and Ode to Food.

The best pizza in the 605 is: Pizza di Paolo, classic pepperoni or late-night Boss’ cheeseburger pizza.

When my friends and I get together, you’ll probably find us: You will most definitely find us sweating it out in the Yoga Studio, indulging in endless chips and dip at our favorite Mexican restaurant – Jacky’s – or grabbing drinks with friends at 18th Amendment.

The place you never can go wrong taking kids is: I personally don’t have kids but would have to say GreatLIFE Suburban Lanes. You can never go wrong with bowling.

When I want to meet new people in the 605 I go: The gym, local events or downtown.

My best memory in the 605 is: This is a hard one. I would have to say being a part of the Blogger Sale with some talented ladies. It was just a huge accomplishment for me. It showed me that I was capable of being much more than I thought I could be.

The one thing I’m least crazy about in the 605 is: The snow. I do not do well with cold and wind.

And finally, life in pictures. Here are the top three photos that most sum up My 605:
