This week’s My 605 features Alyssa Nix, the owner of Posh Boutique and owner of pigeon Roland.

My home in the 605 is: The countryside of Sioux Falls!

The biggest reason I live in the 605 is: The people. I have traveled all around the United States, and you won’t find anyone as kind, friendly and caring as the people from SoDak!

After home, I spend the most time here: At my store, Posh Boutique! Even often after business hours, my friends and I like to spend time here just hanging out and having fun!

When I need to get away, you’ll find me: West River! A trip to the Hills is always a refreshing and fun time. It’s always stress-free because I know my way around, but there’s always something new and adventurous to experience.

The best meal I ever ate in the 605 was at: I have to go with Morrie’s Steakhouse on this one. Anything you order there will be amazing. I must give a shout-out to the entire Vanguard group though, because you will find me at Turks & Caicos Cabana Grill at least two times a week.

My go-to coffee shop is: Scooters! Right next to my store!

My favorite place to grab an adult beverage in the 605 is: These questions are getting progressively harder to answer! Cabana Grill, The Treasury, DaDa, Crawford’s, Vinyl Social Club, Tinner’s! So many to choose from! Most of these places have delicious mocktail options as well!

The spot I’d recommend for a date is: Crawford’s. It has a very romantic vibe and delicious food and drinks.

The best pizza in the 605 is: Mackenzie River and Papa Woody’s! Great places to grab a gluten-free pizza!

When my friends and I get together, you’ll probably find us: At Posh or Cabana Grill! I’m serious about how often we eat there. I can hear the chips and queso calling my name right now.

The place you never can go wrong taking kids is: I don’t have any kids, but my friend’s kids and I went ice skating at Tuthill this winter, and we had a blast!

My best memory in the 605 is: It’s hard to choose a favorite memory in a state that was there for me during the biggest moments of my life. A place where I took my first steps: my old house on South Cliff. Where I had my first day of school: Sioux Falls Lutheran Preschool. Where I met my best friend: Harrisburg Elementary. Where I learned to drive: Huron, S.D. Where I had my first legal drink with my parents: Tinner’s. Where I got my college acceptance letter. Where I started my first business that led to me purchasing Posh! Where I ride and show my horses. Where my 4-H club is. Where we celebrated my father’s life with all of our friends and family: Tinner’s. Where I’ve spent every Christmas and every birthday. Where I met my sweet boyfriend: R Wine Bar. Where the church that continues to shape my life is: Embrace Church-Tea Campus. There are so many beautiful memories for me in South Dakota, and it would be impossible to just pick one.

The one thing I’m least crazy about in the 605 is: This will probably be everyone’s answer but THE WIND!! I honestly don’t mind the cold. It’s just that darn wind.
