This paid piece is sponsored by The First National Bank in Sioux Falls.

Since 2005, First National Bank has awarded $84,000 in scholarships to local high school seniors.

This year, the community bank is once again awarding $1,000 scholarships to five seniors who submit the simple application — no essay required! — and a 30- to 60-second video answering the following prompt:

Tell us about a teacher, coach, counselor or other mentor you admire. What impact has this person had on you? Give one to three examples of things you’ve learned from this person that you will take with you in the next stage of life.

Once the video is ready to go, here’s what students need to do:

  1. Download and complete the two-page application found on First National Bank’s website.
  2. Request an official transcript from school.
  3. Create and post the video on YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok or Instagram Reels. Choose “public” or “unlisted” when uploading the video, and include a link with the other application materials.
  4. Upload these items using the form on First National Bank’s website. All requirements listed above must be met, otherwise it will result in disqualification of the applicant.

Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Friday, March 31, and students do not need to be customers of The First National Bank in Sioux Falls to apply.

Know a high school senior who could benefit from a $1,000 scholarship? Make sure they submit an application!
