Harry Potter birthday celebration draws hundreds with immersive experience

Witches and wizards of all ages convened inside the Western Mall today for the biggest Harry Potter birthday celebration since REACH Literacy started the fundraising event four years ago.

Here’s a look at the festivities:

Witches and wizards began their journey at Platform 3/4, where they were sorted by a real-life talking Sorting Hat.

They then were sent down Diagon Alley to begin the festivities.

A divination station was set up, where kids could get their tea leaves read to learn their future.

A variety of decorations were set up around the central area of the Western Mall.

Games like indoor Quidditch and sock throwing were scattered throughout the building.

Kids were able to choose their very own wand and learn how to cast spells.

This year, those wanting a more exclusive experience were able to buy VIP tickets, which included early entry to the party and a personalized letter from Hogwarts as well as an extra “Herbology” class.
