Downtown Sioux Falls announces new Winter Games event
Games, treats and giveaways will be coming to downtown Sioux Falls as part of a new winter event.
The first Sioux Falls Winter Games will take place Feb. 26 at the Federal Courthouse Plaza.
Activities will include giant bowling, Connect 4, bean bags, Jenga, hot chocolate from Coffea Roasterie, cookies from Queen City Bakery and winter-themed giveaways.
The event was developed by a committee after Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. offered a grant to an organization that would bring a new winter event downtown.
When one didn’t materialize, the committee came together to create an event inspired by the Winter Olympics.
“As a downtown resident and small-business supporter, I’ve wanted some fun winter activities in this area,” said Abbie Coffey, a member of the committee. “We look forward to growing this event and making it even bigger next year.”
More details are expected to be announced soon. Follow the event on Facebook here.
