4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

Swamp Daddy’s Cajun Kitchen is back cooking! The restaurant, which closed its downtown location at the end of February, has reopened, using the kitchen at Signature Aviation just north of the airport terminal. That means you’ve got another chance to try the Downtown Burger Battle winner: Bayou Foster. It’s a bananas Foster-inspired creation topped with smoky bacon and a slow-simmered onion and pepper chutney. The patty is a blend of beef, short rib and brisket, layered with two cheeses and finished with signature Cajun burger sauce on a jalapeno cheddar sweet potato bun. For now, Swamp Daddy’s is offering takeout only, and customers can order in-person, online or by phone. Delivery is available through DoorDash.

Several new items have been added to the menu at MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub. Our pick is the Nonnino Panino. It starts with hot-pressed ciabatta layered with capicola, ham, Genoa salami, provolone, tomato and pepperoncini, with pesto mayo and red wine vinaigrette. The panino is served with fries.

Here’s a new seasonal item to try at Daily Clean Food & Drink. The Korean Spring Roll Bowl features homemade kimchi and Korean barbecue sauce with spinach, cashews, seasoned ground bison meatballs, green onion and sesame seeds over wild rice or spring greens. It’s served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.

Wrap up your Tex-Mex meal at Chevy’s Fresh Mex with new Apple-Filled Churros. The fried dough treats are filled with warm apple filling and are served with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate or caramel drizzle.
