4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

Chef Lance’s on Phillips has several new appetizers. Our pick is Lance & Trevor’s Crab Cakes. They’re made with wild-caught blue crab, gluten-free panko bread crumbs and fresh herbs. They’re fried crispy and served with house-roasted red pepper cream sauce.

While we’ve been enjoying mild weather this month, it’s still “gravy season” as Look’s Marketplace calls it. There are four dishes to try in February, but you can’t pass up the Hot Turkey as the king of comfort food. It starts with Texas toast that’s topped with house-mashed potatoes, slow-roasted turkey and gravy.

This dish was on the menu when Tinner’s Public House rebranded and introduced a new menu seven years ago, and now it’s back as a special for February. Chicken Souvlaki features marinated chicken grilled on skewers with peppers, onions and orange segments. It’s served over rice with fresh spinach and an orange chipotle glaze.

We’ve pretty sure this one will taste as divine as it looks. The February featured menu at Crave American Kitchen & Sushi Bar includes the Port Wine Porched Pear. The poaching liquid also includes clove and cinnamon, and the pears are served hot with Sebastian Joe’s vanilla bean ice cream, a drizzle of port wine reduction and a sprinkle of pomegranate seeds.
