Oct. 16-18: Cemetery tour

The Old Courthouse Museum will offer a cemetery tour, Voices from the Past, at Woodlawn Cemetery, where local actors will bring the colorful stories of past Sioux Falls residents to life on a lantern-light walk. Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased at the museum, or call 605-367-4210 — a $1 service fee per ticket will be added. Tours last about one hour and start at 6:30, 6:50, 7:10, 7:30 and 7:50 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, plus 8:10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday only.

Oct. 17-19: Face Your Phobias

If you’re ready to “Face Your Phobias,” then head to the Jaycees Fearground for some spectacularly spooky activities. Hours are 7 p.m. to midnight. It’s also open Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 30-Nov. 1. Oct. 17-18: Screaming woods

For double the fright, head next to the Screaming Woods Haunted Trails on the grounds of Archery Outfitters, 1811 N. Lowell Ave., for a spine-tingling atmosphere. Hours are 8 to 11 p.m., and the trails will be open again Oct. 24-25. Find the details here. 

Oct. 18: Hot-cold pop-up

The Great Outdoor Store, Sioux Falls Area Running Club and Dakota Sauna Co. are offering a way to relax and recharge with a pop-up offering a hot sauna and icy cold plunge from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. An hourlong session costs $30; it takes place in the parking lot of the Great Outdoor Store, 201 E. 10th St. Time slots are limited; make reservations here. Members of the running club will be at the store at 8 a.m.

Oct. 21: Author talk

The Augustana Library Associates will present an evening with Traci Lambrecht at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church’s Celebrate Center, 900 W. 33rd St. As P.J. Tracy, Lambrecht is the co-author or author of 14 novels, including the “Monkeewrench” series. The event is free, but donations support Augustana Library Associates programming. Coming up: Oct. 23

“That1Guy & The Magic Pipe Present: An Evening of Musical Magical Wonder… The Likes of Which Ye Haven’t Yet Seen” is coming to Icon Event Hall, 402 N. Main Ave. The show features The Magic Pipe, a monstrosity of metal, strings and electronics used to create music and magic. Showtime is 8 p.m. Oct. 23. Tickets cost $18, and you can purchase yours here.
