Aug. 21: Back to School Bubbles

Classroom bells are ringing, so it’s time for those of you who have been taking care of kids all summer to toast yourselves. Terra Shepherd Boutique & Apothecary, 218 S. Phillips Ave., will open at 9 a.m. Thursday and serve mimosas, kombucha and sweet treats until noon. There’s also a sale going on.

Aug. 23: Celebration of culture

South Dakota State University’s Wokini Initiative is sponsoring the third annual Mitakuye Owas’in, or All My Relatives, Festival on Saturday at Levitt at the Falls. The celebration of Native American music, art and culture offers a full day, beginning at 10 a.m. It will include concert performances, with a special morning show for youths and families; speakers and comedians; visual arts activities and an Emerging Artist Showcase at Rehfeld’s Modern Fine Art & Framing; and a vendor fair showcasing Native artists, craftspeople and businesses. Aug. 23: 605 Made Night Market

Shop unique handmade local vendors, and enjoy a one-of-a-kind event under the stars at the 605 Made Night Market from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Raven parking lot at Sixth Street and Phillips Avenue. Click below for a full guide to the fun.

Aug. 23: Barks & Bingo

The Rescue Network and Good NAtured will host a night filled with adoptable puppies and bingo games beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday at 921 E. Eighth Ave. The evening will include prizes and food.

Aug. 24: Sunday in the Vineyard

Musician Dave Vanderlinde will perform from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Wilde Prairie Winery, 48052 259th St., north of Brandon. Wine, cider, South Dakota beer, wine slushies and nonalcoholic drinks will be served at this family-friendly event. Bring a lounge chair and blanket. Pets must be on a leash.

Aug. 27: Battle the Bear

Battle the Bear is a one-hour adventure at Great Bear Ski Valley, 5901 E. Rice St. The goal is to see how many times you can make it up and down the hill in 60 minutes. Walk it, hike it, jog it or run it. This event is for all fitness levels and is all about having fun. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
