One of the reasons BBL HERO and Moxi are such popular treatments is because you can use them almost anywhere on your body. From your face to your neck, chest, arms, legs and even your hands, both treatments are safe and effective.

What happens during a treatment?

Depending on the area of treatment, BBL HERO can be completed in as little as 10 to 15 minutes as it is designed to heat and cool the skin more quickly for a faster, more comfortable treatment than a traditional BBL. While a series of treatments is generally recommended, you can start to see results after just one treatment!

A typical Moxi treatment takes eight to 12 minutes depending on the area and depth of treatment. Results can be seen in as little as five to seven days after treatment. We typically recommend starting with three Moxi treatments and then incorporating maintenance treatments to achieve your best results; however, at ARTisan Skin and Laser Center, your provider will always customize your treatment plan for your specific concerns and goals.

What is recovery like?

In addition to both treatments being efficient and effective, both also have minimal downtime!

With BBL HERO, there is little to no downtime. Depending on your skin’s response, you may experience temporary redness immediately after the treatment that fades within 30 to 60 minutes. Two to three days after treatment, you may notice some darkening of the skin’s pigmentation, which gradually fades over the next few weeks. You are able to wear makeup during this time. The most important thing to know regarding BBL HERO is to avoid direct sun exposure for two weeks before or after treatment.

With the Moxi laser, there is minimal downtime, but it is important to note that the skin may require a few days of healing. You can expect to have minimal swelling and some mild redness to the treated area for three to four days after treatment. You also can expect MENDS, or microscopic epidermal necrotic debris, which can appear in as little as two days following treatment. MENDS appears when the pigmentation is drawn out from underneath the skin, revealing a clear, bright complexion. During this time, your skin may be dry and feel mildly rough like sandpaper. After your treatment, we will send you home with a post-care kit with products to keep your skin well-moisturized to support the healing process.

With both treatments, we recommend simple post care – cleansing with plain, lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen – and most importantly, staying out of the sun and wearing sunscreen.
