March 23: Coffee N Connections
Fresh Impact is hosting Coffee N Connections from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Queen City Bakery, 324 E. Eighth St. This is a casual event designed to connect and offer support and encouragement to women entrepreneurs and business owners.

March 25: Bach birthday bash
Happy birthday, J.S. Bach! To celebrate his 338th birthday, come to the Augustana University Chapel of Reconciliation at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Performers include the Dordt University Concert Choir, White Spruce Chamber Players and players from the event organizers, the South Dakota Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. The one-hour concert is free.

March 26: SnirtFest time
Great Bear Ski Area is ready to say goodbye to winter with SnirtFest — snow plus dirt — although, there may be more snow than dirt this year. TJN/State Steel is presenting this year’s event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Proceeds will benefit the 12th annual Angels With a Dream in memory of Roxie Johnson, who worked as a cook in the lodge. Cost is $5 to enter each event. Events include a limbo and ollie contest at 11 a.m., costume contest at noon, two-team liquid laps at 12:30 p.m., Zipfy sled race at 1:30 p.m. and pond skim at 3 p.m.

March 26: Fundraiser for dogs
Jordan’s Way, a charity devoted to informing people about the many animals who need to be adopted, is on a 50-state tour and will be in Brandon on Sunday. Sioux Falls Canine Rescue will host Kris Rotonda’s local appearance from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Bark Spot, 704 S. Eighth Ave. You can donate on Sioux Falls Canine Rescue’s Facebook page or take part in activities and challenges such as the tortilla slap, matching donations, treating the rescue pups, ice bucket and pie to the face at The Bark Spot.

March 28: Spring flowers
Longing for spring flowers in your home? Alyssa’s Flower Farm is offering a spring bulb workshop at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Canton Barn, 28079 481st St. Muscari, hyacinth and daffodil bulbs are primed and waiting for a bit of soil and lots of light. Alyssa’s will supply the bulbs, soil, garden pans, and miniature decorations and will walk you through the planting. You can register here.

Coming up: April 4
A learn-how macrame class means you’ll head home with a rainbow you created yourself. The class will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 4 at Convolo, 201 N. Weber Ave. Whitney Donohoe, owner of The Daily Collective, will teach the class. Refreshments will be served. You can register here.
